Disney: Cars Land Review

Disneyland- the happiest place on earth- just got happier with the addition of Cars Land.
CarsLand is a super cute creation of Radiator Springs.
You can visit the Cozy Cone for some snacks, Flo's for some home style meals, Philmore's for juice and stuff(:, I'm not sure what Ramone's had- I didn't quite make it there. Sarge's Surplus Hut had a variety of trinkets and souvenirs- including a tire hat. Which was ridiculous.
All in all it was so cute. Everywhere you looked was another memory of the movie that made you say "Awwww".
There are rides in Cars Land- so don't worry, you thrill seeking crazies.
The rides were Luigi's Floating Tires, Racers, and the Tractors.
I didn't get a chance to even really see the Floating Tires, but it looked like a teacups type ride, but there were giant beach balls everywhere. Not sure what they're for, but they looked cute.
The tractors ride was really fun to do with my toddler sister who loves cars, but for myself it was a really fast ride for how long the line was.
Now for Racers... Oh goodness. The ride was very very fun and very very cute. It started out by taking a tour through radiator springs. You met sheriff and mater, went tractor tipping and drove down through the shops with the rest of the characters. Then at the end of the street you went to either Luigi's for some white walls or Ramone's for a new paint coat, then ended up side by side with another car. Then, you raced. It was high speed and high fun. It actually wasn't that fast, just fun. And yes, someone actually wins.
The only downfall with this ride is how many times it broke down. Several times while in line the ride would stop, and 3 or 4 times a day it would break completely. I was in the ride after about 30 seconds and an hour line (in the fast pass lane) and it completely broke down and we had to be escorted out of the ride. I was ready to punch someone in the face.
Also, the standby line, because it's so new, is pretty much always at least a
2 hour wait- sometimes up to 4. If you're going to California Adventure for the day, get there WHEN it opens and go STRAIGHT for the Cars Fast Pass distribution because they run out for the day by 9:00am. We got ours at about 8:30an and it was return at 6:00pm.
All in all, I loved the new Cars Land and will definitely be visiting again.
(check out the photos- me and my brother photobombed in the cars racer ride) ;)

Because I get on these FanFiction kicks...

So, I'm a writer. Self proclaimed. I'm not going to claim I'm great- even good- but I do enjoy it and I hope I one day be published.
I'm working on a novel but I do fanfiction stories on the side.
I started a new one today, 3 Quarters Can't Buy You Much. It's about a girl who's the daughter of Poseidon, but the twist is her mother was a demigod too. Hence the 3 Quarters thing.
Interested? Check it out.
Lisamariehourglass is my username. Writing is my game.
Ciao for now.

Call Me Maybe?

So, as you may or may not know, Phebs and I have a YouTube account called Just Dumb. We did a music video to Katy Perry's "The One That Got Away", in which I make an extremely attractive man. I recommend you check it out. The link is on my page.
Anyways, I really want to make a new music video to "Call Me Maybe?" in which I want to look as unattractive as possible- I figure it shouldn't be too hard- and dressed as a nerd.
So I need these.
Bow suspenders? Yes. Please. Ive been wanting some suspenders for a while- both because of a certain role model named Mr. Summers (like the season but twice as hot) and also... Well, I have my reasons. (;

So I feel lame.

Hey, it's Phebee. July 9.
Like I said, I feel lame. Beffy's been off having this super awesome summer and I'm like "yeah...well...I don't do anything."
OK. To be honest, it's not that I don't do anything. I do a lot. It's that I'm doing...normal stuff.

JUNE
I worked as a counselor at a summer camp every week except one, when I went to a Girls' Camp. It's basically a ton of girls camping and griming together for a week. It is so fun. I was a YCL-a Youth Camp Leader, which means I had a YCL partner and together we had 8 girls to babysit all week. I love it. I was the Mama Bear, my buddy was Papa Bear, and our girls used those names religiously the entire week. I don't think they even knew my real name. The highlight of my camp experience was a giant "mud fight" our cabin had-I say "mud fight" because it was pretty much just a lay in the mud, slip and slide in the mud, dog pile in the mud, rub mud on other people, take pictures in the mud, roll around in it...um...time...hahaha. It was so fun.
That's us crazies after the mudfight. Beffy and I are in there... Somewhere...

Also went to the Special Olympics Beffy was talking about, and I loved it SO MUCH. Surrounded by AMAZING, determined, kind people the whole time. Met some people I won't forget. (:
Here's a picture of Beffy and I there. Looking our finest.

JULY
So far I've still been working. Today I started the most amazing job I could ask for. I get to watch the cutest 5th grade girl for 5 hours a day, flexible hours (meaning I come and leave when I want), and I get to GO do stuff with her since I GOT MY LICENSE!!! a couple days ago. Today we went shopping for "dirt cup" supplies: pudding, oreos, gummy worms-so we can make those tomorrow. We made brownies and colored a poster for her brother's "welcome home" party. We made a giant fort. We found a snowcone place and got Tigers' Blood cones-THE BEST EVER <3 She kept asking me to stay longer so I stayed an extra hour (:
I am so excited for this job. I have it this week, and then again all August. I am off the between weeks because I'm taking my Big Trip!!
I'm going to a mountainous South American country to build on to an orphanage and bring joy and love to the sweet little orphans. I AM SO EXCITED. And SO nervous. 9 days to go, wow! That's scary...

Well, I'm going to go look at more beautiful pictures of a delicious work of art. Catch you later. (:

-Phebee

Um. Yes.

This picture. I'm not sure what it's supposed to mean, but I feel some strange connection to it. Like- it's calling me.
Meow.

Beffy Summer Catch-Up

Hey Ya'll(:

So... Wow. Long time no post, huh? Sorry... But it's all good in the hood with Elmo!

Summer 2k12 Highlights:
[so far]
-Special Olympics.
Phebee and I had the chance of a lifetime to help out with Special Olympics this year.
Talk about WOW. Such a neat expierience.
Lessons learned from SO:
1) Everyone's different anyways, why judge someone based on how their different?
2) Even the smallest and most unlikely people can be crazy competitive- like seriously. watch out.
3) You can meet the least expected people in the least expected places... yes, i'm talking about you... (;
4) Never Give Up
5) If I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.

-EFY (Especially for Youth)
EFY is a LDS Youth camp. It's pretty much a week of meeting new friends and spiritual learning. It's one of the best weeks of my life. I went for the second time this year. Last time I went with Phebee, but this year I was 100% alone. If you know me, you know that was scary. I am so not social. I hate interacting with people. So rooming with a complete stranger for a week was like a nightmare come true.
It was, again, one of the best weeks of my life.
I met some really great people. Really great. My roomate was definitely... unforgetable. She isn't someone I would ever just be friends with, but now we are and I am so glad.
I tried out for a talent show dressed as a guy. I didn't make it in, but I tried out. I'm pretty proud of myself for that.
I danced and sang for random strangers. Of course, this was in the shadow of my room mate, but I would prefer it that way. Telling ten random guys to 'Call Me Maybe?'
yeah. Definitely a memory.
I walked to Jamba Juice- although I'm not positive that was allowed.
I painted a cute guy to look like Aang. Yes, I gave him blue arrows. YOLO.
I strengthened my testimony.
I had Barq's Red Creme Soda with EVERY meal. A gift from the heavens. If you've never had it before, YOU NEED TO TRY IT.
I embarrased myself in red lipstick and a crazy 50's girl get-up at a dance.
I almost tried out for a dance off, but changed my mind half way through.
I walked about 4 miles a day while linking arms with some of the guys I had met that week.
I think I lost a pair of socks...
I had a party in my room with all the girls I had met. A 'party' that was crashed by our counselor. Of course we picked the room that had the broken lock...
I stayed up past lights out talking with my roomate and on the phone with boys together.
Pretty much I just had a great week.

Left to Right: My new friend Maddie, "Aang" and Yours Truly.

That's all for now... I'll update later with some gushy Beach-Related post.

I LOVE THE BEACH. IT IS MY HOME. MEOW.
